What it is

Load and step through games from PGN or FEN, move pieces freely, and analyse any position with any UCI-compatible engine — Stockfish, lc0, Komodo or the engine written alongside it.

It is plain C on GDI with no external dependencies: a green and cream board with Unicode pieces, coordinates, last-move and check highlighting, legal-move dots, board flip, drag-and-drop or click-to-move with a promotion picker, and a two-column move list with animated navigation.

Capabilities

What it actually does.

Players who want the board to open before they have finished letting go of the mouse.

  3. Piece slide animation

  4. Pure C on GDI

Pure C on GDI — no frameworks, no runtime dependencies

How it works

3 moves, end to end.

This is how ChessViz works, not a set of steps you can follow yet — it is in development and not distributed.

  1. Install it

ChessViz runs on your machine. There is no account to make and no service to depend on.

  2. Point it at your work

It reads what you already have, in the formats you already keep it in.

  3. Keep the result

Output stays where you put it. Nothing is uploaded to make the feature work.
