The interface, working

A live rendering of the window and what moves inside it while the program is doing its job.

Animated schematic of the interface. Layout follows the build as it stands; contents are illustrative. Drawn, not photographed

This is a rendering of the mechanism, not a screenshot. Most of this portfolio is private, some of it is a prototype and some of it is a specification — a mock-up presented as a photograph would be worse than no picture at all, so what is drawn here is how the thing works.

Assets

The identity, in pieces.

Mark

The project’s generated mark. Grid fineness is its commit count; the cells are its language split. It redraws as the work grows.

Palette

The identity framewatch carries across this site: one hue from its discipline’s band, with the ramp that holds it on dark and on paper.

Type

The two faces the site sets: a grotesque for the interface, a serif for the statements it makes.

Install framewatch

Published to crates.io. Pick the capture backend for your platform — the detection engine is the same on all three.

Windows cargo install framewatch --features wgc
macOS 14+ cargo install framewatch --features macos
Linux (X11) cargo install framewatch --features linux-x11
As a library cargo add framewatch --no-default-features

Add gui for the window picker, or record for narrated capture. macOS asks for Screen Recording permission on first run; Wayland is not supported yet.
