A quiet place to type, with live typing stats
Project brief
mnmltype is a full-screen editor in the browser that measures your typing as you go. A block caret carries your live speed under it, a status line keeps the headline numbers, and a drawer opens onto the rest: net, gross, live and peak words per minute, characters per minute, accuracy, consistency, and counts of words, characters, sentences and paragraphs.
Only real typing counts toward speed. Pasting, dropping, undo and redo change the text but not the numbers, every deleted character counts as a correction, and pauses longer than two seconds don’t drag the average down. It all runs in the browser, with no backend, no storage and no tracking.
What’s included
• Net, gross, live and peak words per minute, with characters per minute and a sparkline of your pace
• Accuracy, correction rate and consistency, counted from what you actually typed and deleted
• Speed that ignores paste, drop, undo and redo, and doesn’t count long pauses against you
• Runs entirely in your browser, with no account, no storage and no tracking
