Pi Display / Documentation
Pi Display, in detail
A Raspberry Pi touchscreen for your desk or wall, ready to flash
Project brief
Flash an SD card, put it in a Raspberry Pi with a touchscreen, and it boots straight into a launcher with about sixteen display apps: weather, calendar, departures, an aircraft radar scope, Home Assistant, now playing, system monitors, clocks, a focus timer, generative art and more.
Updates come over your local network, signed and with automatic rollback if something goes wrong. Everything is set up from the touchscreen, and secrets like your calendar feed or Home Assistant token stay on the Pi’s server instead of in the browser. A redesign that turns the sixteen apps into one product is in the works.
What’s included
• A flashable SD image that boots into a full-screen kiosk
• Signed updates over the LAN with automatic rollback
• A 25-mode screensaver to protect the panel from burn-in
• Settings done entirely by touch, with no keyboard needed
Current status
This project is in active development, so details may change.
