Where it stands
The electrical design is done.
It went through two adversarial reviews, and both found defects that have since been fixed: undefined control lines at reset, an SPI bus hazard, a shorted chip-select, a missing USB clock source, and the VBUS sense and reference chain. What’s left is getting from a correct schematic to a board you can order.

Grouped by theme, in the order we plan to do them. There are no dates, and nothing on this page is a delivery commitment. The order can change if a customer gives us a good reason.

A bill of materials you can order from
A correct schematic still isn’t something you can manufacture. About half the BOM lines are sourced and the rest need real part numbers. One package on the board is discontinued and nothing orderable comes in it, so the footprint has to change.
- Manufacturer part numbers and manufacturer fields on every line
- Sourcing the lines that are still placeholders
- Replacing the discontinued shift-register package with an orderable one
- Updating the USB-C footprints for the renamed shield pin

Next
Checking the numbers on a real board
Two values in the design are calculated, not measured, and one of them is a current limit. Both get checked on a built board before release.
- Checking the button LED current with the actual parts
- Firmware that disables the IMU’s I2C mode, which would otherwise corrupt the SPI bus

The mechanical design is a separate piece of work. This project covers the board and the panel hardware.

Selling assembled units
It’s a design you can build yourself. There are no assembled units for sale.
How this is maintained
Every item above is tracked in our own issue tracker, and this page is rewritten from it. Open bugs and security work are left off. Those stay in the tracker until they’re closed.
