What state is Button Box in?
In development. Under active work right now. This site describes what exists today rather than what is planned.
Can I use Button Box today?
Not yet. It is not published, and there is nothing to download or install. The build exists and is described here honestly, but it is not distributed. If you want to be among the first to run it, or you have a use that would shape it, write and say so.
Is there vendor HAL or generated code in the build?
No. The layer that touches the silicon is hand-written, which is the difference between a product you can debug and one you can only file a ticket about.
