How it works
Free aircraft valuations, built from real listings. What Avidex does, what it’s built with, and how far along it is.
The premise
Avidex is a free, donation-supported pricing guide for piston general aviation aircraft. Type in an N-number and it gives you a value with a confidence range, based on comparable aircraft that are actually for sale.
It checks about 25 marketplaces and brokers every day, so it can also show how long planes sit on the market and how their asking prices change. Each aircraft’s page pulls in its FAA registry record, accident history and airworthiness directives. It isn’t open to the public yet. The scrapers and valuation engine are working, and the market-trend pages are still filling in as the nightly job collects history.
What’s included
Valuations by tail number, adjusted for hours, engine time, avionics, damage and logbooks
About 25 marketplace and broker sources, re-checked daily
Days on market and price history for every listing
Model market pages, watchlists and alerts
How it’s built
Avidex is built on Next.js, TypeScript, Python, FastAPI, Firestore and Cloud Run.
The repository is 59% Python, 40% TypeScript by volume.
It carries 198 commits since Sep 2026, most recently changed in Oct 2026.
How the work is done
Every project here starts as a written spec, and the spec stays the source of truth once there’s code. The repository keeps a build plan with current status, an append-only decision log of where the code departed from the plan, and a handoff document that describes where things stand, including the unfinished parts.
That’s how one person keeps this many projects moving, and it’s what this page is written from.
Current state
In development. Being worked on now.
The source is private, so the way to check what this page says is to use the product.
